Our Team

With a background in education of working in schools in the South West, we know how important it is to empower the next generation of readers to feel that they too can be writers. We know how inspiring real-world writers can be in schools, for students and staff. We also know how hard it is to get the time to make connections with professional writers and the funding to make creative projects happen. That's where we step in, to help you deliver fantastic writers' visits that will entertain, enthuse and enable young writers to find their voice.

Terry Pratchett once said in 'A Hat full of Sky' that "It’s still magic even if you know how it’s done."

That's how I feel about writing and the creation of all our stories. We have the power to transform and a chance to reach out to others and share our worlds.

I am a huge fan of Terry Pratchett but my love of writers also ranges from Toni Morrison to YA fiction writers such as Tess Sharpe. I also get fired up by non fiction, particularly those areas concerned with Ancient History or origin stories of great cities, such as in 'Istanbul' by Bettany Hughes, to the writings of David Olusoga.

I'm also a gardener and veg grower so am always keen to learn/steal from the gardeners of the past! The chances to learn are everywhere!

I developed a love of reading from devouring adventure stories like Herge's Tintin stories and fell in love with Anne of Green Gables (and Gilbert!) after watching the iconic 80s TV series. I live by Anne's phrase "Tomorrow is a new day, with no mistakes in in - yet!" - this seems like a necessary reminder that we should all go easy on ourselves from time to time! As an adult I most enjoy, Kate Morton, Daphne du Maurier, Michelle Paver's YA and adult fiction, Salley Gardner and Andrew Miller and love a good Hercule Poirot story from time to time.

I've written a draft children's novel and like writing flash-fiction, poetry and was a runner-up in the NATE English Teacher's writing competition in 2022.
